Chula Vista

Chula Vista is the second largest town in the San Diego California metropolitan area. It is the seventh largest town in Southern California and the fourteenth largest town in the state of California. It is the 76th-largest town in the United States. For the 2010 census, the population was 243,916. Chula Vista is located just 7.5 miles from downtown San Diego and 7.5 miles from the Mexican border. This area is in the South Bay region of the metropolitan area. The city is at the center of one of the richest economic and culturally diverse zones in the United States. Chula Vista is so named because of its scenic location between the San Diego Bay and coastal mountain foothills.

Chula Vista was founded in the early 19th century.  Fast population growth has been observed in the city.
